Struggling

I shouldn't be complaining as there are so many that are suffering at the moment, with fires in Tasmania, Victoria and Flooding in Queensland. So many losing the homes.

However I am struggling with everyday life. I struggle to get out of bed every morning. I really dislike work right now. I think all the girls in the office feel the same way. The new system that is supposed to be helping the company is causing nothing but grief among the customer service team and Sales reps. The customers are not happy either and I know we have lost and are still losing customers, due to not being able to fulfil orders and the backlog of work we have due to the quantity of calls and the slowness of entering orders. I can only hope it gets better soon as I do not want to go to work and am really thinking about looking for something new, this would be a shame as I used to really love my job.

I am booked in for the doctor tomorrow and will discuss the diabetes along with all the depression type symptoms I am also having right now. :(  I am trying to stay positive, trying to do things to help my state of mind. But it really is a struggle some days.

We have taken possession of our new car. :) a Kia Rondo. This is a 7 seater that is a little smaller than the Carnival and a lot cheaper. But fantastic to drive and so comfy. The Escape has been sold to Gareth's bosses son. Who ironically lives just around the corner so we will still see it on many occasions.
For us this means being able to all go in one car when my parents visit, yay!

School goes back this week, so today is a big day of shoes, books and all other back to school necessities.

Kerryn and Peter have moved into their new home. It's a lovely place and somewhere they can call their own. I am happy for them. I know it means I will see them a lot less, but we will stay in touch and it is only a 30 minute drive on the freeway. I still feel like I have lost my best friend. Even though I haven't LOL

To all my friends in Queensland who have suffered or are suffering. I send prayers and good thoughts. I hope you all stay safe and dry.

oh boy

Challenges did I say ... LOL only minor ones and they were easily fixed but!

I have received another letter from the company I did the 2 day seminar with through work demanding payment and threatening to but a black mark against my name! It was paid by work up front. I just replaced my manager at the seminar as she couldn't go. Well as their customer service is in US I had no luck phoning, so after tracking down their email address I sent off an email. When I woke the next morning I had this response.

Sam,
I have checked with my supervisor and she has completed the substitution. We have cleared the duplicate invoice (397393). If there is anything else I can help you with please let me know.
No apologies for their mistake or anything of the sort. But I am just glad it is cleared.

Then yesterday I went into the T store to get 2 prepaid sims for the kids to use while they are in SA for 2 weeks. Pretty simple and straight forward. yes? No!! I find this afternoon that they have ported my phone number across to one of the prepaid sims. grrrr. so back to the store I go... in 41 degree heat this was doing nothing for my temper. I had calmed a little by the time I got there but was still rather annoyed. Well after explaining they got it all sorted out in about 20 mins. I have a new sim with my old number and 2 separate pre paid sims. yay! Once again though no apologies for their error. Nothing. What happened to good old customer service.

Oh well .... I feel like there is one more thing to go. We will see.

This heat is killing me. I really do not enjoy HOT summer days. 41 in Melbourne today and 36 in our lounge at 6pm with the portable cooler on. We are all feeling a little hot and sticky. The kids are complaining about not being able to sleep. I sympathise with them as I will be the same when I try for some sleep.
I believe we are in for some mild relief overnight dropping down to 27 tomorrow. I don't believe it will last long though as the prediction for next week is up around high 30's again. I will be back at work so that will help a little in the aircon.

I am not looking forward to having no kids for 2 weeks. Sounds crazy I know. I am sure to enjoy it for a day maybe 2. But I will miss them like mad. The longest that either of them has been away from home is 3 days. I know that they will be fine as they have their cousins and Nana and Grandad to keep them company.
It will just be me... the pining Mummy. I should try and make the most of it while I can I guess.

I am going to start a new blog for my book reviews, I have had some from authors, some through give aways and others are just the ones I have bought to read. But I find since joining Goodreads I am reviewing all the books I read.

2013

It's here already. Ok time to give this blog some more attention. Wonder how long that will last!!

My word for 2013 I have decided is going to be HEALTH

1. Mental Health
2. Physical Health

My mental health is not where is should or could be. I attribute at least part of this to the working environment and the way it has been over the last few months. It needs to change and I need to leave it behind when I go home. I also need to get back into a less negative mindset. Bubble myself and not absorb external negativity. Oils, Crystals and Meditation were all a big part of my life and have fallen off with my lack of time. I need to change this attitude and start making time. Me time where I am not on this computer :P - My star sign on New Years Day (I don't follow these but found this point appropriate for me,)
told me it is time to start being true to myself and learning who I am.

My physical health has also taken a major beating - My doctor told me (many many times) that because of my gestational diabetes and the Genetic history that I need to be careful and look after my health or I am bound to end up type 2 diabetic. Well.... I got a shock when I started checking my BSL's and was getting fasting levels of 10 and then tests of 18 2 hours after eating on a fairly constant basis. I have start looking at the GI levels of everything again. I want to manage this with diet the same as I did when I had gestational diabetes. Not that I have been diagnosed ... last test with the doctor I was informed they needed to keep a close eye on me. That was about 6 months or more ago. Thinking it might not hurt to get another check.
My major things I need to concentrate on is weight (never ever been this heavy even when pregnant) and exercise. If I concentrate on a low GI diet that will certainly help in both weight loss and BSL's.

This is going to be a big year in alot of ways. Brad is going into grade 5 and we have to start looking into high schools for him for year 7. I feel like it is such a huge decision.
Sian is going into grade 3 and camp for the first time this year.
I have my 40th to look forward to (hmm)
it's been 10 years since Gareth & I moved to Melbourne.
Our best friends and their family are moving to a new suburb (only 30mins away) but it just won't be the same even though I will see her often I am sure.
Alot of the school mums I am friends with are going back to work or taking on full time work.

So many changes to be seen. But we need to roll with them and make the best of the circumstances. Meet the challenges head on and defeat them.

So 2013 - I am ready

Intention Inspired - Day 1

TODAY'S WORDS OF AFFIRMATION I am inspired because I can feel a flame inside me pulling me to create more and live life more fully. ...
