My Baby Girl is 2

I can't believe it is 2 years since I was in hospital with my little angel. I can't believe how fast she grown and how much she has learnt! At this point 2 years ago she had been in the special care unit for 24 hours and it was to be another 6 days before she was well enough to come home. To look at her now you would never know.
My little Fairy Princess had a wonderful day and loved every minute. She (and everyone else) was exhausted by tea time.
She received a little touch leap pad from us along with a new dressing gown and some crayons and a doll, from my friend Rebecca and her girls she received a gorgeous little pink hand bag, from Kerryn and family she got a My little pony and a fantastic Alice in Wonderland story book, which will be cherished and from Jenni and family a very wonderful present of crayons, pencils and colouring books, which hopefully means she will prefer the books to my walls LOL

The Last Few Days

Where do I start ... hmmm ok
Wednesday we set off to kinder and I thought I would have a word to Brad's teacher about how he is going and she mentioned he hasn't been his normal self, but very insecure and overly emotional :( and she was going to ask me about what is happening that might have upset him. This was a little bit of a shock to me and after a comment Brad had made to me the day before this knocked me off kilter and I had a bit of a meltdown and spent the night a blubbering mess :( Thanks to my gorgeous DH for helping me through that little episode :) But I woke with a new determination on Thursday morning that things were going to change... and *touch wood* things so far have gone a lot better.
Thursday we went to the shop and then spent some time in the local park, before going to a friends house so our kids could have a play... The day went well and Brad stayed in his own bed all night for the first time in months. :D
Friday off to kinder and after a bit of a chat to him I left... On collecting Brad I had another conversation with his teacher to find he had a fantastic day with no tears and seemed like his 'old' self again... fantastic!!
Friday night we went out to dinner with a group from Gareth's work and we all had a ball... they are a great bunch and all have kids around the same sort of age. This is the 2nd get together with this group that we have been to. There is another one planned for October and then we are going away with them camping in January to Venus Bay :D ... anyway back to it... Friday night and night 2 of Brad staying in his own bed all night :D
Saturday we went off to swimming and then spent some time wandering around a shopping centre and trying to find stuff for Sian's birthday on Saturday coming. After a few hours and both kids (and a mummy and daddy) were ready to head home. We then proceeded to play some xbox games as a family, which was kind of fun. Gareth cooked a roast turkey dinner (Xmas in July style) and we then made some popcorn and sat down to watch Tarzan2 together.... the kids then went off to bed without argument and Brad has now spent 3 whole nights in his own bed WOOHOO!!
Today we have had another nice family day :) I went to the gym this morning and then we went to visit our friends and have some dinner, it was a great afternoon and I got asked to be a god mother to their little man, which is an honour :D I now have 2 god son's both named Jack (Jackson and Jaxson) LOL
ok welll that is me up to date for another few days at least :D Some photos of my gorgeous kids to close

I won a prize.....

woo hoo, I thought I would donate to NBCF as part of Ngaire's raffle and I truly didn't expect to win anything, I was more donating in memory of my dear friends Tracy (2003) and Christine (2004), who lost their battle with BC, but as an added bonus I received and email telling me I have won a gorgeous birthday money purse made by Crissy How lucky am I :D

I have finally after a couple of weeks scrapped something!! It's ok, but I still think it could be better, Oh well I am happy enough with it. Thanks to Ann for helping me out with some suggestions :D

and I have started another LO, so here is hoping my scrappers block is gone away for a little while at least!!

On Saturday a group of Melbourne scrappers met up once again, this time at Narre Warren at A Scrappers Warehouse
and Sally was lovely enough to shout us all Krispy Kreme donuts :) They are delicious and I have not tasted any donuts that compare. Hot off the line mmmmm m
Kerryn and I thought we would go and get some KK to bring home as we were early arriving. It only took us 15 minutes in and out :D I am glad we decided to go before our get together and not after as the line I think at least doubled in size by the time we left to head home.
The girls are lovely people and are really easy to chat to. Next month we are meeting up at Scrappy Hollow which is my LSS so that will be fun. :)

More Photos

I don't have much to update so thought I would just post more pictures. I think the kids got sick of me taking photos today LOL
I asked Brad to come outside so that I could take some more - this time with him and Sian together and the response I received was "No thank you, that's enough for today!" LOL

No flash :) No Shadow :) thanks for the advice on this one :)

This one looks like Sian has been cut in half....

Can I also add a HUGE big thanks to Moi for the magazine and the alpha's, she is truly a special person and I hope that I get the privilege of meeting her in person 1 day soon :D

New Camera

I totally love my new camera :)
It's a fuji finepix S5600 and after having a play I must say I have ALOT to learn :)
but I am having so much fun playing with the settings tonight :)

This is just basic but I love the definition of the macro setting which I have seen used, but never had access to before.

hmmm really think I need to clean my keyboard LOL

One thing I find I am having probs with is the shadows, but I think that is a matter of positioning perhaps.

The first couple of photos I took look a little off in colour - mainly skin tones

But then playing with the settings and took this one and I think it looks much better :)

I am looking forward to learning more :)

time to update

hmmm what's news
School holidays are nearly over and Brad is back to kinder next week. I am grateful for that as he really misses the stimulation. (I am a slack mum and don't do enough with him at home in the way of activities)
Sian starts swimming without one of us in the pool this term. Big step for the little miss, she is ready and able physically to go in with just the instructor, but I think her confidence was rocked a little in the last couple of weeks of last term and she wasn't happy or confident to be in the water, the way she was a week or so before :( I am hoping that she will find her confidence again soon as I think she could be quite a good swimmer and she is a water baby. She is not scared of the water, just the lessons. Oh well I will be taking my bathers along just in case I need to jump in as well.
I have found myself wanting a new printer and a new digital camera these last few weeks, it will be awhile before we can get either, but they are on my official wish list now. I have just seen so many awesome photos and then look at what our little camera does and I'm so jealous (there you go Rachie :) )
Maybe another aim before RW in December :) - I am wanting to lose my excess baggage by then as well so I can wear something nice to the concert :) - wish me luck as my motivation at the moment is *zero, zip, zilch* :(
Scrapwise I have done a frame from a kit I received as a RAK from the lovely Maria M :)

There is not a great deal else that I have done, Oh hold on :) there is this one I did for CC challenge over at The Craft Attic

I was actually really happy with this one. It's a good photo of Gareth and I like the Li'l Davis Alpha's too :)
The other one I did I am not sure about. I love the photo, but not sure on the actual LO.
**blogger gone mental and I can't upload this one, so I will come back and do it another day**

Still no letter from the dentist to tell us exactly how much Brad's teeth are going to be. But I guess it will get here soon enough.
Mum and Dad are coming to stay for just over a week in August WOO HOO I can't wait.
We are babysitting tonight for a friend :) Brad is really excited that his mate is staying 'all night' :) I think it should be fun, will have to get some photos. I am going to try and scrap tonight and see if I can find that mojo.
until next time
