I have started catching up with a few people on facebook that I haven't heard from or seen for years... it is really wonderful to hear how they are all going these days. It is great for keeping in touch with family too I have found :o)
Things have been going well, we took ownership of our new car on the 12th of March and it took a little getting used to, but I love it. I have found being that little bit higher has made me more comfortable with driving when it's really busy.
We headed over to Mum and Dad's for Easter and it was a truly lovely break. The kids had a ball. Mum and Dad now have a new car too a 2003 Toyota Camry in an almost pastel mint green type colour ... hard to describe really. I met my gorgeous nephew Braiden for the first time and wow he is a little character. He has the most gorgeous little features and a personality to go with it already and he is only just 4 months. We also celebrated my niece Charlottes 4th birthday :) she is gorgeous but so shy... until she comes out of her shell and then she is funny and very cute. The kids all got along so well it was a pleasure to sit and just watch them. All 7 of them in the house at once and I really can't remember any fights at all. There may have been some minor disagreements, but I can't recall them at the moment.
We also took Brad to the speedway which was holding a speedcar championship followed by a demo derby and that went down a treat. He was in his element :o)
My brother Troy and SIL Dot came down for a visit and I think I get along better with them both now than I ever have, even though we are not in contact that often.
(I will load some photos of Braiden and Charlotte tomorrow, they are on the laptop and I have to move them first :o) )
Another little trip we made was to Adelaide, to visit my pop's grave at Centennial Park. It was very emotional. When Brad asked me what his plaque said I got choked up trying to read it out to him. I wish I had the opportunity to know him better and ask him all the questions that I would love to know. I am trying to look into the family history, but it's not really that easy, given that Pop changed his name and birth date to be able to get into the army early :o( But I have traced quite a bit on him anyway. His brother Leonard is another story. Nana's side I have found out so much info it made my head spin for awhile. But with time I hope things will appear and we can find out more.
I received my April kit from Trace over at One Stop Scrapping and I love it as always. This month I got to play with some Core'dinations card stock and I had fun with it :o) It's in the One Stop Scrapping Gallery if you want to have a look... although it looks much better in person than it does in the photo.
Well I was going to bed half hour ago HAHA so I should go
til next time ... take care
